benefits of using aloe vera in natural organic skincare products

A succulent, Aloe Vera is also called the wonder plant. It is commonly used for food flavoring, cosmetics, food supplements, and for herbal remedies.

But what is it about Aloe Vera that makes it so unique and beneficial for the skin and hair?

Today, we will walk you through the chemical components of Aloe Vera, and how it does its magic to make us young and vibrant!

The Components of Aloe Vera

The gooey material found inside the leaf of Aloe Vera is 96% water. What remains is a marvelous combination of organic and inorganic materials that have potent healing capabilities.

The plant is home to between 18 and 20 amino acids, or building blocks of protein, all of which are naturally-occurring to the human body. The plant is also rich in different vitamins like A, B, C, and E.

If there is one thing that is essential in this plant, it is the acemannan. It is a powerful compound that has antiviral properties. This compound is also an anti-oxidant. More importantly, it makes it easy for the body to transfer nutrients to cells.

And if this happens, the cells are nourished, and the toxins are flushed away from our system.

Aloe Vera and Your Skin

Because of the rich content of Vitamin E, Aloe Vera is the perfect plant to improve the skin’s elasticity. If processed the right way, Aloe Vera can treat your skin problems and also exfoliate it. This is why it is a common ingredient in most beauty creams.

Here are the benefits of Aloe Vera as far as your skin is concerned:

  • The gel is an absorbent material, which makes it great for reducing oiliness in the skin
  • The water component and vitamin E of the gel moisturizes the skin, preventing dryness and flaking
  • Aloe Vera has anti-inflammatory effects, which makes it suitable for those suffering from acne, pustules, and pimples

Aloe Vera also has vitamin C and beta-carotene, both of which are known compounds to fight aging. It moisturizes the skin without the grease.

Aloe Vera and Your Hair

Because of its soothing qualities, Aloe Vera is commonly used to treat an itchy scalp caused by dandruff. But apart from this, what else can it do for your hair?

Here are the benefits of using Aloe Vera for your hair:

  • Reduces oiliness – as an absorbent gel, it removes excess oil form you hair, making it healthier and softer
  • Repairs damages – vitamins A, C, and E are all critical for cell growth. With these three vitamins, your cells can fight off damage, giving you shinier and healthier hair.
  • Aloe Vera has Vitamin B12, also called folate, which keeps your hair from falling out
  • The plant can stimulate blood circulation, so using it on your scalp will stimulate growth

Some people who use Aloe Vera regularly have observed that their hair grew much faster. This may be true, but studies are still ongoing to either prove or disprove this.

What kind of product should you choose?

The problem with a lot of beauty products in the market nowadays is that most of them use water as the main ingredient. Unfortunately, there are so many watered-down versions out there.

When buying a skincare product, choose those that are made with Aloe Vera as the base. Here at ECOKISS, we only use certified organic Aloe Vera as our main ingredient. We never water down our products; true Aloe Vera cannot be substituted with water. It is the remaining 4% that holds the power as to why this plant can do wonders for your hair and skin.
